Point of Ayr Lighthouse

Wales’ oldest lighthouse, Point of Ayr Lighthouse keeps watch over the fierce Irish Sea. Built in 1776, the lighthouse remained active for over 100 years until its closure in 1883.
Nowadays, the lighthouse remains a commanding figure on the peaceful Talacre beach. If you’re visiting the lighthouse, be sure to keep an eye out for The Keeper. A 7ft sculpture which keeps a careful watch over the sea.
